Clanktank
Just picked up a bike off ebay and forgot to check inside the tank. Went to fill up just before parking her up at home and found it's got a lovely coating of light rust on the inside, probably from standing without any fuel in her. It's not flaking off or anything, just a coating, so is there any way to remove it with chemicals or other methods that aren't going to damage the outside of the tank? gregtrx
Try this stuff, works well. THe tank kit comes with a solvent that disolves the rust (think it's called metal ready) and a sealer which gives a nice finish. Worked wonders on my little bros bike, and that was horrible inside.
