spectrum
Does anyone know where I can get zinc plated bolts ?I'm rebuilding a trail bike and I'm replating 90% of the original fasteners but some need replacing and Ican only find ordinary commercial stuff with the head stampings on. Don't really fancy having to machineall the heads up and then replate.Any suggestions ?
blow_away
Most plating places will do zinc plating. Just buy the required fasteners and send them off I can't tell where you are on the mobile site, if you are in the South West S&T are very good but not cheap. http://www.stchrome.co.uk/Sorry I misunderstood the post slightly. I blame the cider ;-)
kanerdog1x1
Any mx parts supplier will have boxes of assorted nuts and bolts, the honda ones are white zinc, the yam ones are grey/green, and the Ktm ones look painted silver, but it's a passive coating. spectrum
Problem I've got is it's a 1972 Yam LT2, no one does a kit and the original finish is plain DULL zinc and all the stuff over thecounter is polished. Looks like the machining and replating route.
