GSXR814
I knew it was tight so i was gentle with it. My log burner was already nice and hot so i put the clip-on on the top to heat it up a bit. It was still tight but little by little it was turning, it had gone a good turn and a half when PING the head broke off!!! So i now have about 15 turns of thread stuck it my lovely Harris clip-on clamp that needs to come out. Is an Easyout my only answer or is there another way? Wildbill
Easyout ! I can see tears before bedtime. Try drilling it out in stages a size at a time and finish with a lefthanded drill bit (6mm possibly 7mm if m8 bolt. Hopefully the bit catches in the broken thread and unwinds. Make absolutely sure the initial drilling is as central as possible. S/S does have a tendency to gall threads/corrode in alloy. Proper penetrating oil may seep into the work. Use a graphite lube on re-assy.

Evilchicken0
Take it to an engineering company or somewhere with a pillar drill
wavey
I use easy out quite regularly and rate them, worth a go as paying someone else to fix it might be as expensive as buying a new one! or just be really careful drilling and tapping it!
