MadManMiles
My daughters RS50 bump starts dead easily but won't start off the electric starter I'm thinking reg/rec problem but won't have time to check till weekend. Anybody else experienced similar symptoms or have any advice to save me time and get her back on the road quicker ?

Wildbill
Battery; Starter taking all the voltage leaving not enough for "hot" ignition. See what it does with jump leads on it.
Evilchicken0
Solenoid. Bridge the terminals with an old screwdriver and the starter should spin over. Renew the solenoid.
BudgetBoy
If the starter turns the bike over, then id be looking at battery 1st. Check to see if you have over 12.4V. But you really need to load test it to be sure. If the battery is more than 3 years old for the cost id wack a new one on (or use a good one to test). If this does not solve the problem then it could be the starter motor itself. £16 for a new battery here
