jaycee
The fuel tap on the XJ appears to be leaking, luckily I had a spare. Now naturally I don't have a brand new o-ring to go with it, I'm using the one that;s on it. So in order to reduce the likelihood of firey death, I'd like to purchase some sealant to assist the o-ring in doing its job.

blow_away
http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/product_detail.php?products_id=83104&gclid=CIPbkdjszr4CFaMSwwodYGQAVg O ring cord is what you need. I think nitrile is OK with petrol, Simply Bearings will confirm if you ring them. Cut the cord a tiny bit too long to allow for shrinkage. Measure the width of the o ring groove in the tap to ascertain the correct size.
Superdunc
You want Viton normally for fuel. Or a piece of cork gasket material is cheap and effective.
