philg
Hi all. Whats the best high temp clear finish for an Alu silencer can ? I've got a Vance & Hines can that is a bit ropey but seems to be cleaning up to base metal OK, however, I don't want to keep buffing it up & also don't want a shiny Ali finish. I'm looking for a decent high temp clear or slightly tinted lacquer that will keep the brushed finish. any ideas ?? Cheers. Goody
millerich
I don't have any experience of using it, but Hycote do a VHT lacquer.

Evilchicken0
If you clear coat it then chances are it will wear off. The best thing would be anodising but after that a proper polish on a mop - you can get a kit to go on a drill. You should be able to get away with mop polishing it once a year depending on the weather you ride it in.
philg
Cheers all. Think I might go for the wet'n'dry every now & then, at least that will give me chance to see how it goes before committing to a clear coat that may go manky. I don't want it super shiny, just don't want it staining. Goody.
