Installing Old School Petcock

Mahatma

Recommended Posts

Hi.Just a quick question:My petcock has begun to leak intermittently, and is becomming a nuissance (and maybe a worry too when it gets real hot ;) ).Bought a new one,and wondered if it's just to install it straight on,or put some sealant on the rubber gasket that seals it up?

Thanks in advance for some input :)

On the couple I've done, I didn't use any gasket goo or sealent of any type. As long as the two faces (tank and petcock) are clean, grease free and smooth, you should have no probs.
