I having nothing to add other than that a TS50X was the object of deep lust as a 16 year old. I wanted one badly.

I had one back in the day, I thought it was ace, it was shit.......

Funny you should say that,my lad was overjoyed with it at first but soon came to the conclusion that life at 36mph was plain dull and dangerous and is counting the days til he can have 125.

I had a 1997 one at 16 (P478 UDU) and would love to find it again now.

As Barryj said, big bore kit (Suzuki actually sold the kit), higher final gearing and proper road tyres, not knobblies was the way to go. Mine would sit at 55mph comfortably on the flat all day, whch just about kept the HGV's off your back.

Top speed I got indicated was 67MPH, down hill etc etc! It also had about 7 top ends in the 2 years I owned it. Related? Probably! A piston kit was summat daft like £20 back then though.

As for tyre pressures, I have no idea sorry.

I have a TS125X and the genuine manual says 150 kPa front 22PSI (ish) and 175 kPa rear about 25.4 psi , I would guess the 50 isn't far off ?

I had an '86 model. Loved being able to get around on my own at 16, happy days.

Eventually fitted a big bore, after numerous attempts at porting the original barrel, and it had a Gianelli expansion chamber and DEP silencer.

Tyre pressures would depend on what type of tread you're using. For road use I'd go about 28-30psi, but that's a personal preference.

Why thank you kind Sir !

I will when I crack on a bit with it .

I'm about as fast as Rompy is with his travel write ups .

And , even though it was all there, it was a lot worse than it looks .
