What is the charging process for these, why does it differ from a normal wet cell and what voltage should they settle at when fully charged?

I bought one of these for my twist & go this summer & it is terrible.

Supposed to work straight out of the box & it didnt & it still goes flat when off the bike.

Its got a 5yr warranty but I cant be bothered to send it back.

I would buy a good quality Yuasa or similar.

Not trying to contradict anybody, but again, I've had cheapo AGM batteries on a number of bikes and have never had any issues at all, using a normal charger and a normal charging circuit on the bike. I charged mine fully on the charger when I first got mine and they've been great since.

You shouldn't need to treat them any differently to a normal wet battery, the only difference is that the electrolyte is suspended in the glass matt rather than sloshing around.

They are more user friendly in my experience. They might read slightly higher than a normal battery straight of the charger, but I expect them to settle to 12.7-9v after a few minutes.

A bit lower than I'd expect, but not a problem. What make is it Odessey?

It's a Westco. Voltage is still increasing. It's up to 12.50v. :)

How long did you charge them for Loz, how many amps, and what was the voltage, once the 'froth' calmed down?

No idea at all, I just stuck it on to charge over night, maybe 14 hours.
