Curly68
Hi My boss has bought super moto wheels for his DRZ400S and wants to know the best way to get a correct speed reading on his clocks. I thought you could get a device that has different gearing inside to reduce the speedo reading but can't find one anywhere? Found a speed healer from heal tech but that is for electronic speedo's and not cable operated ones. Any thoughts please?
millerich
Geared ones do exist. I've got one on the Africa Twin, but it came with the bike, so I can't tell you where it's from.
millerich
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=161040661332 This is a kmh to mph one. Not sure if anyone makes one to correct for different wheel circumference.
Curly68
Thanks for that. Will have to try and work out how much faster the 17" wheel will be spinning over the 21" standard wheel and if the kmh/mph would be close.
thefatman
There is a company who make speedo convertors for cars when doing gearbox swaps who could do it, i'm sorry but i've forgotten the name of the company I was thinking of but this came up in google so may be worth phoning them up http://www.speedycables.com/page34aaaaa.html
lorenzo
Stickers over the clocks?
Curly68
The clocks are digital, so stickers wouldn't work. SM Speedo drives won't fit as they have USD forks and bigger axle :-(
