rd84
Hi, Are there any special spanners or sockets available for undoing aluminium nuts and bolts to prevent the finish getting marked and damaged ? - For example fork cap bolts. Thanks. Regards Paul

kanerdog1x1
for fork tops, make sure the pinch bolts are loose on the top yoke, then apply electrical tape to the flats on the hex and use a hex socket to loosen them. try not to use a bi-hex as it will likely mark the part. ohlins use these at the factory http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KNIPEX-PLIER-WRENCH-86-03-250-mm-NEW-Adjustable-Pliers-and-Wrench-in-One-Tool-/200929655928?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2ec8573c78 , as do most suspension shops. same principle as a pipe plier, but with perfect flats. i have used them, and they are the sex. i was always put off buying them as they were in excess of £100, this price seems very good. no laughing at the back. rd84
Thanks for the advice everyone - I was not expecting to be advised to use a adjustable plier type wrench - however I suppose the answer is in the quality. Cheers Paul
