2Smoke
The old LDD Z500 has started showing its oil light while at idle after a ride. Level is okay, goes off with anything about tickover. Ok when cold. Sign of a pump dying or maybe a faulty switch?
Stephenrc45
Con rod side faces would be my guess. Try the switch first I guess as it's cheap.
Superdunc
Does the oil pump have a pressure relief valve you can get to easily? Might have some shit under the seat or you might have to shim the spring.
2Smoke
I'm not sure, have ordered a sump gasket so will whip the pump out after I've done the top end rebuild and see what's going on. Might have to put some tape over the light or something.. can't be doing with it breaking down!
Evilchicken0
I'd go with turning the idle speed up. It's an oil pressure light so it's better off than on.
lorenzo
I'm sure an MOT tester can excuse you a 1500rpm idle for a charitable cause, can't he?
2Smoke
MOT? The bikes have to be legal for the run??
