El Gringo
Hi All Just wanted to check something with the material gurus. I need to make some reducers to take a rear caliper bracket, wheel spacers and sprocket carrier bearing insert from 25mm to 20mm diameter. It's so i can run a wheel that currently has a 25mm spindle on a 20mm spindle, i have found the bearings but wanted to know if standard 6082 T6 ally tube will be ok to use as inserts for the various reducers? I can probably remake the actual wheel spacers but the caliper bracket and bearing insert need reducing too. Would it be ok? Cheers Chris
porter_jamie
yes, 6082t6 (HE30) will be fine, its the most common 'engineering' grade ally so most places will have lumps of it laying around.
El Gringo
Cracking, Cheers Jamie. PS I'll kick my mates arse about that CAD drawing for the bracket
off road rob
Plus one on the HE30 grade of aluminium, HE15 would do a similar job if need be also.
