MDB929
I have a trailer out the front of my house that needs a refurb - the wheel bearings and tyres are shagged and the base board has rotted through. It's made out of a pretty substantial caravan frame, and is braked. The current load area is 8 x 4. Now then, I'm thinking of converting this to a three bike trailer - I haven't used it for a couple of years so I might as well get something out of it. Firstly has anyone here ever converted a caravan base in such a way? I think it is likely to be sturdy enough to carry three full size bikes but how do I tell? Also, I'm wondering about the feasibility of constructing it so that the bike rails can be relatively easily removed so that a box can be put back on to use as a normal trailer... I can't weld so I'll need to find someone to do this for me, unless it can be constructed with nuts and bolts - but I'm worried about drilling through the frame rails to do this. Opinions appreciated. I'll get a pic up of it tomorrow.
