Protecting A Bare Metal Finish

The swinging arm on my SZR is currently a bare brushed metal finish.

I don't want to paint or powder coat it, as it's bound to get chipped and start to corrode underneath.

I've see some 'metal sealants' which claim to provide a temporary protective finish which can be re-applied as necessary.

Anyone used these before, and care to recommend one?

I've done a Scotchbrite finish on my bike as well. & a chap on here recommended ACF50, apparently it was developed by the US military to protect the aircraft on aircraft carriers while at sea, but to be honest I've not tried it as yet.

I don't want a polished finish, just something that could be wiped on every few months to give a protective coating.

This is the kind of thing I was looking at, but ACF-50 looks to be similar.

I might just leave it bare and see how it holds up, it's just the arm can be easily removed at the moment to get it all covered :eusa_think:

My mate swears by baby oil.

He is a bit weird though.

I tried it once on my steel wheels and it protected them great but they got filthy real quick.
