Is it possible to add OBD2 monitoring of AFR oil pressure boost etc to a bike that is pre obd2?

I dont want it to control the engine but just want to add sensor and monitoring then use an android app?

Is it possible?

I want to add an afr oil temp and a boost and maybe a few other sensors and have this displayed via an app to my android. OBD2 has an app but my bike does not have obd2. I was wondering if i add the sensors and have it controlled by something like a pic 32 board with a bluetooth adapter could this be possible?

yes , if you add a board that can convert all those signals to obd2 , like stand alone data logging unit , or programmable board like pic / arduino . if you know how to program them :)

Maybe something like this

then

Thats the only way I can think of. Theres quite a few analogue to can bus convertors out there, it'd just be about finding one at the right price that'll do what you'd like it to.

Thank you at least you had a grasp of the idea my mad ramblings was on about. Sensors to a OBD2 board to a bluetooth interface to Obd2 android app. Which will give me a multi display touchscreen gauge. which will be ideal. The other option is daqdash or something else but the largest problem with them is every sensor has to be daisy chained which would mean min of 2 quite large boxes just for one sensor.

Yeah I've looked at before, was a while ago though. What stopped me from persuing it was finding an analogue to canbus convertor that was decent value for money for experimenting with. If I ever get some spare dosh I still want to try it as it'd be just as good as those posh dash's you can buy but without the price tag. And colour!

edit: http://www.axiomatic.com/CANbus-signal-converter.html this one looks like it'd do the job and be the right size, I've emailed to find out how much, I'll let you know :biggrinvk4:
