chancho196
Need to get my head around this. I've got an old GSX750 frame I want to strip of paint and rust. I don't yet want it painted or powder coated because I'll be altering/welding as I go. So, if I give it to someone to acid dip it, how do they get all the acid out of the frame? Obviously it will creep in through drainage holes, porous welds etc., but is there a process to make sure all the bad stuff is gone afterwards? Who's in the know? What do you suggest as the best way to get it back to clean, bare metal?
tootall
A decent rinse will take care of any residual acid. Why not get it blasted? Its cheap enough, giVes a decent surface to be doin stuff to and when you've finished you can just have it quickly blasted again before paint/powder.* If only there was a forum member doing blasting and soon to be powder coating......
