noely02
hi there, i'm looking to replace the airbox on my 96 gpz1100s with some pod filters, but before i do i need some advice on what to do with the cam cover breather hoses. the 2 come out to a valve air switch, then to 1 pipe which vents into the air box. under the cam cover outlets i believe there are reed valves. this bike has the same basic motor as zzr1100 and zrx1100 so any help would be greatly appreciated NoeL
ssray
Either have it vent into a chamber(Old tin etc) or fit a small k+n type filter on it, Ray
lorenzo
There's plenty of bikes that simply block them off, either by sticking something in the ends of the hoses, or neater, you can buy blanking plates that go over the take-offs or just make some yourself using the take-offs as templates. I bet if you were to lend one to Kayla, she'd knock you a pair up in beautifully neat ally, like she's doing with exhaust hangers etc too, really top class workmanship (workwomanship?). noely02
after trawling through a few zxr forums, there is the blanking plates as you say, just search for octopus removal.....i've made some myself from a few bits of ally, sprayed with some satin black, don't look too bad!
