my sons xr125 has suddenly developed a stalling/won,t idle problem.

bike has been ok up to now

its had a new air filter/plug,it seems like its not getting fuel,it won,t idle off choke and it reluctant to rev cleanly.

time for a carb strip or something else?

But it pulls ok when revved up? Bunged up pilot jet is my guess. Clean the carb and swap the fuel filter if it's got one, if not try and splice on in between the tank and the carb.

1.) You have a nice blue spark for the plug? If its orange that's weak.. so check this as well. This is often overlooke..If blue move on to next step.

2.) Check that the fuel is getting to the carb 1st. Pull the pipe off the carb and see if the fuel is coming out.If it is then great, if not its the fuel filter or blocked vent in the filler cap.

3.)If its coming out of the pipe then its your carb as Lorenzo states. Take if off and remove the Pilot jet and clean it.. Give the whole carb a good clean.Refit and you should be good to go.
