wildcard996
CBR 929 vibrations After a little help. I've got a 2000 CBR 929 with 22,500 miles on the clock. Below 6,500-7,000rpm i get a buzzing through the bars and pegs (more noticeably the right peg, this seems to get worse above 7k. It's got PC III, can, and filter. It was serviced by the shop at around 17k and the oil was changed about 21k. The clutch recall has been done recently , and there was an advisory for the head bearings at the MOT. I'm just not sure where I should start investigation??? Cam chain tensioner? I know it's difficult to diagnose blind but any advice would be appreciated
monty_zac
This maybe no help but, on my one of these I had something very similar (cant remember what revs it happened at though, but it did come and go through the rev range) and it turned out to be a loose bolt where the crash bobbin had been mounted, I couldnt believe the amount of vibes, it was shaking my eye balls! I thought all sorts of bad stuff, was chuffed when it was so simples.
lorenzo
If it was lower down in the revs I'd suggest balancing the throttles. Certainly, start with trying the cheap stuff first.
