DAMO666
I was trying to straighten the front mudguard mounts on a pair of zxr400L forks and managed to snap one off, was wondering if you can remove the bottom piece of the fork leg from the stanchion and how is it done? thefatman
They screw on. With a bit of loctite to stop them unscrewing. And possibly a grub screw as well but that is fairly rare. Clamp the stanchion in the vice, get a piece of bar that fits into the axle or you can use the axle itself with a bit of tube over the end to extend it. Heat it up to break down the loctite and it will unscrew. Having said that i'd just get a new mount welded on, saves messing around with it.
