Stewbie
I currently have an 08 Fireblade seat unit on my SV650S, and as such have got a 'Blade light to fit the seat. Now, as you can imagine, the wiring is different between the original light and the blade unit. How do I determine which wires need to be connected to which, given that they are different colours? kaighn80
turn on the ignition, get a multi meter, put the dial to diode and see which wire is earth, then turn it to 20v and see which wire becomes live for the brake lights and which for the side lights, thats half the job, then try the connections in the light for brake and side, you just hold them on a 12v power source and see which wire makes it brighter. job as they say jobbed. Evilchicken0
Use the SV's wiring diagram to find what the wires connect to then do the same with the Blade's wiring diagram. Once you've sorted it put a coloured ziptie on the coresponding wires so you know in future.
