Chris
The Brake nipples on my calipers are dribbiling out fluid when I slacken them off to bleed the brakes. What should I do..... remove and refit with PTFE tape around the thread?????
lorenzo
Yes, and wrap the tape so it doesn't come undone when you tighten them up.
Evilchicken0
They might have been over tightened in the past, which damages the seat in the caliper. Doing the nipples up tighter doesn't seal them any better because all you need to do is seat it. If this is the case then your caliper is fucked
lorenzo
In my experience the thread will.strip before the seat gets damaged, and if this happens you'll know about it. As it is, a bit of fluid from round the threads while you're bleeding them is nothing to worry about.
