yamfan
You don't say whats wrong with it ? I think the best thing for you to try first is to get the sag set up as best you can so the springs are working for your weight, make sure you're wearing all your kit when making any adjustments. once your happy with the sag, set the damping to the standard settings and work slowly from there, get out on to the roads armed with a screwdriver for twiddling the clickers, then just try and get a feel for how the bike is behaving. if its wallowing around try a bit more rebound, if its harsh and kicking off small rough patches try a bit less compression damping. you'll soon get a feeling for how different adjustments make the bike respond, and make sure your tyre pressures are bob on too, Or failing trying to get the bike set up for yourself you could try something like this, apologies to the author of the site I nicked it off Heres the settings: Front fork travel measured at.......... 125mm Revised full travel.......................... 125mm Static sag measured at.................. 85........40mm Revised static sag......................... 93........32mm Ride sag measured at.................... 69........56mm Revised ride sag............................ 80........45mm Compression settings on arrival....... clicks out... 20 revised compression settings.......... clicks out... 17 Rebound settings on arrival............ clicks out... 12 revised rebound settings............... clics out..... 7 rear suspension full travel measured at 562mm revised full travel............................. 562mm static sag measured at..................... 556............. 6mm revised static sag measured at.......... 553............. 9mm ride sag measured at...................... 538............. 24mm revised ride sag measured at........... 535............. 27mm High speed compression settings on arrival...... turn out........ 3.25 High speed revised settings.......................... turn out........ 3 low speed compression settings on arrival....... clicks out 10 low speed revised setting............................ clicks out 18 rebound settings on arrival........................... clicks out 15 revised rebound settings............................. clicks out 15 12 stone kitted up is quite light so these settings could be for someone much heavier than you, that's why I think it's better to try and get the rider sag setup for yourself hth. Agtrak100
Hi Yamfan many thanks for that I'll print it and compare to what is actual. It is not my bike it belongs to a freind. However I do not have the means with which to get the bike off the ground and unload the suspension other than on the sidestand...... So I really needed the actual measurement for the available travel / extension of the forks and the rear shock which I beleive you have given me , and also should be the same for most if not all the standard R1's of that year So I can set the static based upon those measurements and work from there. Many thanks for your time SteveT RHRC
