hondakid 1000
I currently own an 04 Fireblade which i bought second hand two years ago. It is standard with approx 9500 miles on the clock and full service history. Whilst out riding last year i "opened her up a bit" and came off the throttle, when i came back on the throttle there was a bad knocking noise from what seemed like the bottom end. This has been confirmed by a good mechanic friend of mine who started the bike, i have started to remove the motor but i'm not sure what to do with it. Is it worth stripping down in the hope its just a big end shell or do i get an unknown motor to replace it? Any advice much appreciated.
Gregorious77
Wont cost anything to pull it apart and have a look/measure up.
kaighn80
as above crack it open take a look whats the worst that could happen? if your looking at getting a new second hand engine then you might aswell take a look and it might cost you less in the long run.
