Barry
Need some recomendations to where I should/can get a pair of Marchesini magnesium wheels refurbished? A bike I've just brought has a pair on but they are, well, f**ked! The paint is bubbling on the rear wheel where the previous owner had a go at spraying it, looks like its reacted with the wheel. The front is ok but could still do with a refurb. Does anyone have any recomendations as to who can refurb them, from experience or know of someone else who has had some repaired? Cheers all. Bernster
I did mine by using a quality blaster, (be careful they know they're apples) - and then took them to LapTab on the A38 in Birmingham to be powder coated. Replaced bolts holding hubs in place with likewise ones before powder coating and that was it. *Edit: If they're magnesium ones then be careful if you get them chemically dipped instead of blasted. I know a well known wheel refurbishment company that pulled a wheel out and half of it had disappeared in the chemical bath. They did however buy him a new wheel.
