rossm
Some of these should do the trick
Mr.Pigdog
Simple!buy a few metric taps(usually m6 x1,m8 x1.25),could also get dies to clean up any bolts as I'm assuming it's an old bike.
chancho196
If on a budget, or unable to get to a shop, you can file slots into the end of a bolt (same thread) and this will clear the coating as you screw it in. Just put the bolt in a vice and file 2 or 3 slots, lengthways, into the end of the thread. A tap is still the best way though so be careful. Evilchicken0
The best and easiest way is a tap and die set - they're not expensive and are useful for cleaning threads (like disc bolts and the wheels). get a set off the bay or a tool wesite and get them sent to you. Don't hurry this with dodgy tools.
