Carbon Air Intakes on K7 750

I have bought some carbon air intake tubes for my K7 750.

The original tubes had a rubber seal on them at the point where they entered the frame. When I bought the tubes I was expecting to re use these rubber seals as I had been told the engines where sensitive to the airbox being pressurised.

However, when fitted with the rubber seals the fairing fit isn't quite right (pushing fairng forward), but its perfect when the rubbers aren't fitted.

So I supposed my question is?

Will the tubes fitted into the frame without the rubber seals be ok?

Should I look to finding another method of sealing? The tubes go much further into the frame that the OE so I could look to seal from inside the chassis, they may even be close to/as far as the airbox.

For those that care, yes they look the mutts, and yes they make an better induction noise. I wondered why the original air intakes were bulkier and an odd shape, I think it might have been to keep the noise down. I'm hoping a more direct route may also help gain some ponies at the dyno.
