Bandit 1200 exhaust compatibility.

Anyone aware of any other make / model of bike exhaust that fit the Suzuki Bandit 1200? GSXR slip-on models look like they might... :eusa_think:

Also, anyone aware of any compatibility 'rear-shock wise' for the same bike?

Questions, questions, questions. :eusa_dance:

If you're on about a full exhaust then any other oil cooled are the same port spacing and will fit just that some are different heights so you may need to swop the sump and oil pick up as well. The more modern GSXRs Ti ones will fit as well with a bit of tweaking to get the right spacing as long as you use the ones without the centre pipes cross piece.

Loads of different shocks have been fitted to the Bandit, the 'busa is probably the most popular as it's close weight wise to start with. Gen1 Bandits have shorter OE shocks than Gen2 models (01- onwards) so a busa shock takes a bit of levering in and lifts the back end a fair bit that can be got round with longer dogbones if need be, on a Gen2 it's just a touch longer and no big deal.

This might help

Also - Gsxr 1000 will fit depending on year, K1 - 4 are too long, but I have fittied K7/8 1000 ones to 1200 bandits so they definetly fit, they are 25mm shorter than earlier ones, all you need is 4 washers and a stanley knife.......simples

early ones will fit if you use the bottom mainstand mounting hole and re jig the linkage/dogbones.....but its not easy

K7 gsxr 1000

early slingshot ones all fit and are completely rebuildable, Ive used a 1992 gsxr 750 £85 for rebuild and regas, and works a treat

Look at the shock length guide someone so helpfully copied earlier in the post,,1200 k4 320mm ish gsxr 1000 k5 325mm . so should be simples, Ive not actually done a k5 into a late 1200 but the only way is try it and see, but the lengths are good... you might need to space the dog bones out a bit, but just get on and try it........... - more of his words of wisdom
