Babyjase
I'll be changing the front brake pads of the blade next weekend and wondered is their a proper way to 'bed in' the brake pads? Jacobs fig rolls shall be issued for good advice!
EXJ10R
Just go easy for the 1st 50-75 miles, smooth application on the front lever, judging corner entry speed will help and not promote heavy braking, don't bury the front into the ground when coming up to corners, rondabouts, junctions etc etc... then after that you can use as intended. Not a fan of fig rolls though.
BudgetBoy
Have to aggree here. Take it nice and steady (30-50 miles) to allow the new pads to bed in with the old disc's.
szrdave
As above, although tbh I pretty much ride as normal after fitting new pads and have never had a problem with glazing etc. If you're fitting a different brand or compound of pad it's worth cleaning the discs up with a bit of emery paper and some brake cleaner though, before putting the new pads in. Egg on Leggs
I put a 2 or three radial lines on the discs with a felt tip pen, when the marks are gone you know they have worn in.
