Jaybewan
Just looking for ideas as my J2's rear shock is way past it's best. I'm on a budget of what I can get for a packet of crisps and a smile so anything second hand but off a newer model? Or even a shock from something else entirely that will do the trick? Any help would be much appreciated.
David W
What about getting it rebuilt properly instead?
Jaybewan
I'd like to but at the moment I really really can't afford even that
David W
I see you're in Leicester. I'd give K-Tech in Coalville a call and ask what they'd charge just to rebuild it. It might even just need re-gassing. It's pretty cheap, and cheaper than buying a secondhand shock I'd imagine?
will#224
Apart from regassing it you could probably strip, clean and rebuild it yourself.
blow_away
IIRC Bill Waddington charges £85 for a rebuild. I should think K-Tech are about the same price? http://www.whitecrossmotorcycles.co.uk/ Offer to pay cash and save the VAT The trouble with buying a second hand shock is that there is no guarantee that it is in any better condition than the one you already have.
