NO. The "stretch" in a chain is actually the sum total of the wear on each link. If your chain is that bad, you sprocket/s will be worn too. Gregorious77 Posted May 19, 2010 Report Share Posted May 19, 2010 And you will find the pitch of the chain is now different from that of the sprockets and it wont sit right on them. I have seen one so bad it rode up almost onto the points of the sprocket on the oposite side to where it was sitting properly in the gaps.
