drivechain link removal?

have a little honda cb450 i commute on and the chain is a bit streched and i was just wondering rather than buy a new one, can i remove a link from it just to get a bit more mileage from it? :tacheemoticonwh7:

NO.

The "stretch" in a chain is actually the sum total of the wear on each link. If your chain is that bad, you sprocket/s will be worn too.

And you will find the pitch of the chain is now different from that of the sprockets and it wont sit right on them.

I have seen one so bad it rode up almost onto the points of the sprocket on the oposite side to where it was sitting properly in the gaps.

Just buy a new chain and sprockets before it snaps and bites your leg off!!!
