USD fork seals/service

I'd like to do the forks on my K5 Thousand, but it is one of those jobs I've never felt happy about doing. The more I think about doing it, the less inclined I am to crack open the fork tops......

Can it be done at home, without special tools, but a mid skilled bloke like me?

Are you just talking about changing the fork oil, or a full stripdown?

You can do it yourself, but TBH the specialists charge so little for doing it that I can't really see the point in doing it yourself, plus if you are after a revalve or setup it is all done at once.

I like Bill Waddington at White Cross Motorcycles for this work. Bill wiil spend the time with you to make sure you get what you want. There is also MH Racing over in Corsham, plus K Tech, MC Tchnics further afield. Plenty of guys on here will give good testimonials for these firms, and plenty of others besides.

Have a good read through the manual first and see if you like the idea of doing it. Then make sure you have all the tools you need, the right amount of fork oil, a suitable stand, a clothes peg to put on your nose (the old oil will stink). Maybe get Tootall to show you how first time? (Sorry for volunteering your services Jamie :icon_salut: )
