project RGV1000

Fenfast

Recommended Posts

This is just an unbelievable project, my GSXR rebuild just doesn't deserve to be on the same internet...!!

I really, really wish you the very best of luck with it and hope that all your problems are minor ones.

Now thats what I call a proper special :eusa_dance:

How you gonna fit the exhausts in?

Hi Paul g, Yeah you are right the exhausts are going to be a bugger, I'll probably have to get some help from a specialist like 'Gibsons' or some one similar. Looking back at some of the 500 gp bikes they had short pipes for the rear cylinders exiting staight outthe back so I think if I can't get the length I want, the cone shapes can be re-calculated for the right tune. Luckily the CR 500 has a very broad spread of power and I think that means the pipe diameter needent be so chunky, but I can always make a feature of them! FF

As the others said much respect for milling a lump of ally that big manually, and even more to you when you come to kickstart the beast :eusa_dance:

Cheers Gnarly, I really wanted to fit the kick starter :D , but theres every chance It would have proved impposible to kick over not to mention very time conuming to make as none of the standard parts would fit, so It'll be electric. - FF

Nicely !

Is it going to have balance shafts , I would have thought 2 x CR500s would vibe a fair bit !

I've given this a fair bit of thought, and I think it will actually be a lot less vibey than a single, the cranks should balance eachother out, I'm not sure at this stage the best 'fazeing' of the cranks but they can be altered easily to give the smoothest results - I hope :eusa_dance: FF

I love this.

A heady alliance of incredible engineering talent with the ferkin ridiculous ambition to make a motorcycle that is 1000% insane.

If you need someone to test fly this, I'd like to volunteer; my life is dull lately and needs a bit of arse gravy weepage from something scary like this to remind why being alive is really a very very good thing.

You are a star sir, and I wish you the very best of british luck.

please, please, even if the progress is incredibly slow, give us step by step updates - it would be a tragedy for this project to disappear off of radar!

again, all the best.

On the theme of insane two stroke engines, for those mortals not possessing the skills of Fenfast (fookin' crazy man), there are options out there for those inclined (and no I do not work for these fookers, just found the site by accident while mentally masterbating all over Google...sticky, sticky Google):

I'm smart

They've produced a parallel twin version, which is pretty badass, but not as badass or to my liking as Fenfast's monster V-twin.

shapeimage_2.jpg

edit to say that they claim 210 hp with "minor modifications." Though I have NO idea what their idea of "minor modifications" to a homemade 1000cc parallel twin two stroke monster engine would be... :D

edited again to say Bloody hell I'm a noob at linking shite....thanks lorenzo!

Please please please take many pictures and write many, many words adding up to lots and lots of sentences documenting this build! :eusa_pray: The scale of this is phenomenal! :icon_puke_r:

The end product is going to be completely mad.

Thanks for your interest ferg, for all those who are following this, I've posted an update on progress and things in the 'projects' section of the forum - where perhaps I should have started it! Anyway there it is and sorry for any ramblings and repreating myself, repeating myself, I was tired :eusa_wall: F.F.
