yorkshire racer Posted August 24, 2009 Report Share Posted August 24, 2009 Help !!!!! Have got a Suzi GS550D (1977-80ish nobodies exactly sure) and it as really wierd tapered roller head bearings. They are 48mm o/d top and bottom which isn't a standard size. Have had Suzi dealer trying to suss it out and non of the specialist bearing shops have a 48mm bearing on any list, standard size is 47mm. Bottom bearing SHOULD be 50mm o/d, thats bigger than the tube dia on this frame. To add to my problems the standard bottom bearing is 30mm i/d, yoke stem is only 27mm !! neither headstock tube or yoke appears to have been modified. Can't identify these bearings, no makers name or anything on them. Any clues as to whats going on would be good. At moment, looking at getting a yoke stem machined to suit standard bearings and sleeve tube down from 48 to 47mm. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
